Spun brass rin-gongs (singing bowls), are traditionally used at the beginning and the end of Buddhist meditation and chanting practices. The clear harmonious sound produced when struck is a perfect pitch E tone and creates a relaxed peaceful atmosphere for meditation. The beautiful “singing” tonal quality and vibrations produced by slowly circling the rim with a wood striker is powerful, cleansing, and healing, and helps to deepen samadhi (concentration of the mind).
