Burmese Temple Gong - Solid Bronze

Our solid bronze temple gongs have been forged in generations-old foundries in Burma (Myanmar) by artisans trained in the ancient art of gong making. Pounded by hand into its traditional shape, tuned to produce deep melodic tones and resonances, each temple gong reflects many hours of skilled workmanship. The shape of the gong, and the traditional lotus design ground and polished through the rough textured, smoky antiqued finish, represents the Buddha's dharma (teachings) on the Path of Enlightenment. The sound of the struck gong represents the teachings resonating into the world, a call to the Path of freedom from suffering.
