The exquisite wall-hangings shown below were hand-painted, mounted on a backing of black raw-silk fabric, and signed by the artist, Mr. Wachera Kitisup. By integrating traditional Thai Buddhist iconology and painting techniques with his own unique style, the artist has created some remarkable works of art. The intricate details of the paintings have been accented with 24 Kt. gold-leaf and treated to give the work the look and feel of quality antique Thai temple hangings. Each wall-hanging measures approximately 29" wide X 49" long and comes with a description and artist bio.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Mr. Kitisup holds a graduate degree in fine art and has studied Buddhist iconology and traditional Thai painting under one of Thailand's master temple mural painters. After being awarded several of Thailand's most prestigious art awards Mr Kitisup, who's work appears in galleries throughout Thailand, has become one of most sought after temple mural painters. He was selected to paint the extensive murals of a Thai Wat (temple) in Texas, USA, which he completed in 2002 after almost a year of painstaking work.
