These beautiful 100% pure silk table runners from northern Thailand reflect weaving techniques and exquisite tribal patterns that have been passed down from generation to generation dating from early 12th century Siam. Each piece has been meticulously hand woven on antique looms. Variances in the patterns and color combination make each wall hanging a virtual one-of-a-kind work of art. All of these beautiful runners are soft and supple and can be used as walling hanging art or elegant shawls and scarves.

From the harvesting of the silk from silkworm cocoons, to drying and spinning the silk into thread, to dying the silk threads with natural organic dyes, to the finished product, the work is accomplished entirely by hand. The nubs, knots and variation of textures in the weaving are not considered defects. They are natural to this ancient weaving technique, adding to beauty and appeal of the art of hand weaving. The prices listed below are based on the intricacy and difficulty of the pattern and the size. The sizes shown below each image is approximate. For those who wish to display the weaving as wall art, two types of hangers are offered below as well. Some of the hangers incorporate an actual antique loom shuttle into a carved teak wood frame which adds a sense of time and place to your display.
